Knowledge of the World: An Introduction to Philosophy
This course aims to provide an introduction to philosophy,
with
special reference to philosophical questions concerning our
knowledge
of the physical world around us. Students will be
introduced to philosophical
reasoning and argumentation, as well as to the ideas of
some main historical
figures in the field, including Descartes, Berkeley, Hume
and Wittgenstein.
