The ancient Greek philosopher Aristotle (384-322 BCE) researched virtually every aspect of human knowledge, producing works that influence philosophy and many other fields down to the present. This course looks at his political and social philosophy; we focus primarily on his Parts of Animals, Politics and Constitution of Athens, examining his concepts of nature, human nature, slavery, property, citizenship, democracy, education, music, and the ideal city.
