The ancient Greek philosopher Aristotle (384-322 BCE) researched virtually every aspect of human knowledge, influencing philosophy and many other fields down to the present. This course looks at his political and social philosophy; we focus primarily on his Politics and Constitution of Athens, examining his concepts of nature, human nature, slavery, property, citizenship, democracy, education, music, and the ideal city.
