@
- The mid-term test will be on the topic of valid arguments.
- The test will consist of only true / false questions. You will be given a set of arguments and you have to decide whether they are valid or not. See question 3 of A02.5 Exercises
- The test will be conducted entirely online through a web site. The web site will generate a different test for each student with roughly the same level of difficulty.
- The test will be available from 7am to 9pm on Feb 29. You can begin the test at any time during that period, but you have to submit your answers before 9pm. Anyone who fails to complete the test during that period will receive zero marks. No exception will be made.
- You can complete the test anywhere you want, but you should make sure you have a stable internet connection. No allowance will be made for software or hardware problems, so you are strongly advised to begin the test early and have a backup plan in case your computer fails.
- You will need to use your student ID number and your email address to register for a password before 25 Feb. Marks will be deducted if you don't do so.
- Results will be released online 10 March 2008. When you have completed the test you will be given an address to check your marks.
- Since it is possible to get some answers correct by random guessing, you should regard an A grade as equivalent to getting 90% or above, 80%-90% for B, etc.
