- Format: 6 2-hour lectures including discussion time.
- Course objectives: Critical thinking is a matter of thinking clearly and rationally. Creativity is a matter of discovering new and useful alternatives. The objective of this course is to introduce the basic principles of critical and creative thinking, and show how they can be applied in research and practical situations. Topics to be discussed include conceptual and argument analysis, fallacies, logic, scientific methodology, and creativity in research.

- Assessment: Pass/Fail - One final take home test. Details to be announced.

Final test
- Multiple-choice test to be completed online.
- You should have received an email from me already telling you that there will be a test. LET ME KNOW IF YOU HAVE NOT GOT ONE.
- A second email with the link to the test will be sent to you before 5pm Thur 19 Nov 2009. You should submit your answers before Tue 5pm 1 Dec 2009.

- Everyone has passed the take-home exam. (pass = getting more than 40%).
