Essay assignment

• Use A4 size paper layout, times font, single line spacing, font size 10-12.
• This assignment has two parts.
• Part I: Write a personal value statement. See lecture #2. (20 marks)
  • Note: This was originally scheduled to be submitted with your portfolio. It is now to be submitted earlier.
  • Length of statement: 1 to 2 pages.
• Part II: Answer the questions on an assigned reading. A pdf file has been posted to webct, marked "essay assignment". Please download and read. Do not distribute outside class. (80 marks)
  • The file has four green boxes marked A to D. Answer ALL the questions in the boxes. On your paper, write down "A(1)" followed by your answer, and then "A(2)", and so on. Do not copy the questions again.
  • Length of your answer: 3-5 pages. DO NOT exceed the page limit.
  • You should use your own words and ideas and avoid citing other sources. If you do need to cite, use the APA system.
  • What is important is to write clearly and systematically, and explain and defend your position.
• Submission: No printed copy. Upload a SINGLE file to http://www.turnitin.com before 5pm Wed 2 March 2011. The file will be checked for plagiarism.

  • Late submission: -20% for each day that is late. (-40% on the second date, etc)
