OpenCourseWare on critical thinking, logic, and creativity

MODULE: Creative thinking

Critical and creative thinking are the two most basic thinking skills. Critical thinking is a matter of thinking clearly and rationally. Creativity consists in coming up with new and relevant ideas. To be a good and effecive thinker, both kinds of thinking skills are needed.

Creativity might be divided into two kinds. One is cognitive creativity that is involved in solving problems. The other is aesthetic creativity relating to artistic creation. This is of course not a sharp distinction, but critical thinking plays a more important role in the former. The tutorials here focus mainly on cognitive creativity.
