Do not be credulous

To be "credulous" means to believe things too easily. This harms learning. Do not assume that because someone is famous, or worthy of respect, or the author of a textbook, you ought to believe whatever they say. Click here for an example.

So be warned. Do not automatically believe what René Thom says. In fact, many scientists regard him as eccentric or even mad.

At the same time, do not assume, because his work is not orthodox, that it must be wrong.
