This may be an allusion to what he wrote in De carne Christi:

Crucifixus est Dei Filius, non pudet, quia pudendum est;
et mortuus est Dei Filius, prorsus credibile est, quia ineptum est;
et sepultus resurrexit, certum est, quia impossibile.
(De Carne Christi V, 4)

The Son of God was crucified: no shame, because there should be shame.
And the Son of God died: entirely credible, because it is not apt.
And, buried, He rose again: certain, because impossible.

It is interesting that Newton, a unitarian like Tim Berners Lee, the creator of the World Wide Web, nevertheless said that the scriptures should be interpreted literally, as far as possible.
