Course Assessment

30% Problems sets
Between 6 to 8 homework assignments will be assigned during the semester.

30% Midterm quiz
One hour long, in class on 11 October, covering the first half of the course

35% Final quiz
One hour long, on 29 November (the last day of class) covering the entire course

5% Class involvement
You are expected to attend lecture and participate in class.

Submission
Please submit your problems sets on paper to Ms Loletta Li in MB312.

Late Policy
Late problem sets will be penalized. Your grade will be reduced by 10% for each day late.

Office Hours
You are very welcome to visit me on Tuesday morning before class 9:30-11:30, or you can
send an email to me to arrange to meet at another time.
Also, there are two tutors for this course:
Mark Chan will meet students on Thursday afternoons 2-3 in room MB301.
Arthur Chin will meet students on Monday afternoons 2-3 in room MB306.

Working Together
You are permitted to discuss the problems sets with other students in the class.
However, you must write down your own answers to the problem sets by yourself; you
are not permitted to copy the work of anyone else.

Academic Honesty

Plagiarism and other forms of academic dishonesty will not be tolerated,
and will be severely punished. To plagiarize is to use of the words or ideas
of others without acknowledging their source.
