Philosophy Labs@HKU

The Department of Philosophy at The University of Hong Kong runs two research labs: The AI & Humanity-Lab@HKU and The Hong Kong Ethics Lab. These labs organise talks, seminars, workshops, and public-facing events designed to improve our understanding of the ways AI is transforming society (AI & Humanity) and to drive academic research and public engagement on pressing issues of ethical concern (HK Ethics Lab).

Upcoming events are listed on the calendar below. If you're interested in being involved, please get in touch.

Visitor Programme

Our Visiting Scholars programme is intended for academics across a range of disciplines, including philosophy, political science, machine learning, and others. It is designed to offer scholars an opportunity to visit HKU for an extended period to work on a research project related to one of the labs’ areas of focus, collaborate with HKU researchers, and to broadly participate in the intellectual life of the community.

If you’re interested in participating in the Visiting Scholars programme, please get in touch.
